Iratzoki&Lizaso

Alki has been dedicated to the production of chairs from the beginning. It’s not for nothing that the company´s name means “chair” in Basque. Here, for the very first time, we were challenged to design more tangential pieces in terms of product typology. So this collection offers pouffs, auxiliary tables, sofas etc. where the upholstery cohabits with timber in a thorough balance.

The pouffs consist of round-shaped blocks that have been cut into two parts. The base is made of solid oak whereas the seat part is upholstered using minimal sewing.

The Egon coffee tables draw inspiration from a traditional typology of tables where the edges are covered with a metal plate, usually full of ornaments. This basic architecture has been reinterpreted using hand forged iron instead. This imperfect surfaces contrast with the otherwise modernist and geometric shapes of the three coffee tables.

For the height adjustable table we combined sofisticated technics from both Alki’s internal technical capabilities and local suppliers to achieve a piece that I specially like.
